Works like a charm with ubuntu 10.10 64bits
Also with Slackware 13.1 64-bit
Everything worked straight after the ubuntu install (I just needed to install nvidia proprietary drivers, just had to go to 'additionnal hardware drivers'
Discussion

Sorry if my english is bad.
meu asus não funciona o hdmi com ubuntu 11.10, o que fazer?
well man actually the keyboard light is not an issue, when u use the turn off all lights button and you turn on again all light keyboard doesnt turn on the light but you can use de Fn+f4 keys and turn on again the keyboard lights XD. the touchpad has the same problem in windows 7 in some laptops not in all, if you upgrade the BIOS works fine on linux, but not recommended upgrade BIOS yet because i did it, the problem has gone but i cant enter to the boot menu pressing f9 and many options in BIOS disappear.
I am having video card issues using the GTX 460M anyone else?
Any one been able to activate the CPU turbo boost? My G73JW runs Ubuntu 11.04 x_64 really well (i disabled Unity b/c it sucks) but no compatibility issues that I've noticed… just would like that performance boost…
I had the same sleep/hibernate problem with my G73Sw laptop. The solution I found is here : http://thecodecentral.com/2011/01/18/fix-ubuntu-10-10-suspendhibernate-not-working-bug
Other issues I found was the keyboard back light, once turned off, you cannot turn it back on. The cursor was acting in a strange erratic way when having 2 fingers on the touch pad. A simple shutdown, remove and add battery would fix the touchpad cursor issue. Also the biggest problem I'm finding is that the sleep/suspend and hibernate does not work. I have not been able to come up with a work around for this. This is VERY important to me since it's a laptop and I like to sleep/suspend on lid close.
