Ubuntu 13.04 with radeon (open source) driver works fine, but you have to configurate properly vgaswitcheroo (take a look at this page https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HybridGraphics). The only remaining problem is cpu/gpu overheating (55°C just surfing the internet and similar stuffs)…
With Ubuntu 12.10 there are some problems with amd dual gpu technology that maybe can be solved using fglrx drivers or ati catalyst, but the laptop still not work as fast as it could be. Maybe thi guide can help https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BinaryDriverHowto/ATI but not so sure. At first start-up after installation of Ubuntu the screen results black, you have to reboot and edit the grub (press “e”) the add nomedeset after quite-splash line and use CTRL-X to boot Ubuntu, then install fglrx or proprietary driver for gpu, remembering that you have an hybrid gpu configuration so you need to tell when use a graphic card when the other, the switching needs the X restart.
