Ubuntu 12.04 both 32-bit and 64-bit installed without any problems.
The Asus K55VM laptop came with FreeDos. Boot with a live CD of Ubuntu 12.04 and re-partition the HDD according to
requirements. Almost everything worked out of the box. The built-in webcam works with Cheese and XAWTV however, recording sound with video using the built-in webcam and mic did not work out of the box. Recording video with headphone set worked out of the box.
