Asus K70IC
Introduction
Asus K70IC is not a mobile pc, but a mobile workstation. The batteries provide to you about two hour working time. I am using this notebook with Ubuntu 10.04, and I running many (sometimes 4 or 5) virtual machines simultanusly. The 4 Gb ram, and the CPU runs smoother.

Notes
There are some issues with this notebook.
* HIBERNATING: Ubuntu can not start up from hibernated state
* RESTART: The “Restart” command does not work. System shutdown done well, but not restarts the notebook: just hangs.
* Splash screen: When splash screen enable, sometimes the X Server can not start, or the video driver (nvidia) crahses. In this cases you have to reinstall the drvier. If you switch off splash screen by kernel option the system starts correctly. (To see the messages not nice, but interesting)
Summary
After half-a-year using period I found my notebook works more faster with Ubuntu 10.04 than Windows 7.

I knok how to fix the problem.Disable the web cam from manage …..Enable only when you need web cam .The webcam driver is problem.I wait for replay

I have the same problem, so i added this to notes. I did not found a solution for this problem yet. I think the problem is around the ACPI.

I have an Asus K70IC-TY022L. I've readed the notes but i have another problem with this laptop with ubuntu installed. When I want to restart my laptop just hangs with the monitor shutdown but the computer working( I can say that because the LEDs are still powered on and the laptop's HDD is still making noise). The shutdown option works!
If you heard about this problem please give me the solution.
