Discussion
Works fine with Ubuntu 8.10 but needs a recompilation of the kernel. Go to the following forum link for a description and further links of what to do:

Fedora 9 x64 runs on my M51Se without modifications. And that is the only distribution and version that i manage to run…
I've tried to run mandriva-linux-one-2009-KDE4-int-cdrom-i586, fedora 10, Suse 10. UBUNTU, KUBUNTO nothing seems to work, I can's figure what's the problem. Sorry for my bad english I just hope someone resolve this problem.
Problem with 64 bits version
For 32 bits version it works, but in the 64 bits version doesn't works, any idea?
I want to install 64bits but i can't unless I remove 2Gb dimm from motherboard.
With only 2Gb ram, instead of 4gb, it works perfectly.
Solution to install any version of linux
To run Linux on this laptop yuo must install tha alternate version, after that you must edit /boot/grub/menu.lst and add in kernel line “mem=2900M”.
es. : /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.24-19-generic root=UUID=680574bb-08e1-4700-9017-ad262976566c ro quiet splash mem=2900M
there's a problem with ram. I hope someone will resolve this limitation.
