Asus S202e or X202E

model also know as Asus S200, S202e, S200e.

The exact model i have report X202E in the pci strings, and was advertised as S200E-RHI3T73

Note: it is not mentioned anywhere, but it came with a neat external DVD-RW that works without a power supply! just plug one usb cable and use! (haven't tested writting a dvd yet, only reading)

Boot

As with any 'safe' boot, booting linux is full of futile steps that shouldn't be there in the 1st place:

press ESC when you turn it on
select Enter Setup
Go to Security tab
disable Safe boot
go to Boot tab
enable CSM (~~no idea what it stands for~~ Compatibility Support Module. another name for the Legacy Mode you read on other BIOSes )
save and exit (press F10)
press ESC again when it turns on
select the USB media

Touch Screen	Works		Works right on the live-usb installer! multi touch and all (note: there's a bug when using two monitors with extended mode. the click on the touchscreen will be scalled assuming the whole size of both screes. e.g. 2 screens side by side, you click the middle of the touchscreen it will register on the middle of both screes, i.e. in the left of the touchscreen)
Touch pad	Works		multi finger and all. perfect!
Wifi	Works		very good reception
HDD	Works	Hitachi 500GB 5400RPM	if you plan on replacing a SSD, keep in mind the bottom screws are NOT phillips, and that you need a 7mm SSD, the 9mm probably will not fit
battery	works	internal	VERY slow to charge. it's a little faster on windows (asus ship an application for fast-charge). i'm getting 2~4h depending on usage. charging time is about the same
USB	Works		2x USB2, 1x USB3
Screen	Works	11.6“ at 1366×768	annoyingly bright and reflexive. resolution is very nice for 11”. don't miss the 1024×900 yet
Sound	NO	hda intel	I can't get the microphone to work correctly. Sound out via speakers or headphone work very well. i can't test sound over HDMI as i can't get HDMI video out to work.
Bluetooth	Not detected		i'm not interested, so it may be easy to fix, or impossible. have no idea.
HDMI out	not working
VGA out	Works		tested on a TV and there were no pixels eaten on the edges like i get usually. good.
web cam	Works		Not dark at all. a little on the grainy side. i'm pleased.
Card reader	Works		it's a half depth one. you can't walk around with a SD card inserted as it will be sticking out exactly half of it's length. or use a RS-MMC card!
function keys	works (except for brightness)		suspend=OK, wifi=OK, brightness up/don=No/No, screen off=OK, external screen =OK, touchpad off=OK, volume mute/down/up=OK,OK,OK
Suspend	Works		lid close/open works. ~~while sleeping from win8 the status light flash. when suspending from linux, all lights are off~~. that was happening with the live install. after i installed it, suspend works just the same as with windows. the satus light blink. power consumption is about 1% each 30min, which is awfull. not to mention consumption takes a spike right after waking up. e.g. suspend with 35.8%, wake after 36 min at 35.3%, after 10min it dove to 32.3%. On windows 8 i suspended with 90% and 8 hours later i'm still at 89% :(
