Running Funtoo and gentoo-sources-4.7.0, most things are just fine.

Fn+Fxx combinations mostly work as expected in XFCE-4 but haven't tried F8 (ext. display toggle). Fn+F9 thru F12 are not working at all (yet) and don't even appear in xev output so no volume control or touchpad toggle.
BYD touchpad works but not with gestures like two-finger scrolling so I'm looking for a Synaptics that matches its size to swap it out. In the meantime I often just use a USB wireless mouse but not always so I wrote this (admittedly hacky) script and made a shortcut in XFCE keyboard settings to run it on Ctrl+Alt+9:

tp=`xinput list|grep BYD|awk -F= '{print $2}'|awk '{print $1}'`
xinput list-props $tp|grep Enabled|awk -F\: '{print $2}'|grep -q 0 &> /dev/null
if 1); then
xinput disable $tp
xinput enable $tp

Also Fn+F2 to toggle wifi seems to confuse NetworkManager and it didn't reconnect until I '/etc/init.d/NetworkManager restart'. Using NM seems to be necessary because wpa_supplicant didn't work at all with the Intel 6150 card, even though KNOPPIX and SysRescCD connected fine also with NM– even after I took the internet's advice to make wifi stable by adding “options iwlwifi 11n_disable=1 bt_coex_active=0” to a file /etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf .
No 3D games/gfx yet but works well enough in Firefox.

…fixed kernel config so asus_nb_wmi included, now volume hotkeys work on Master channel but touchpad key (F9) is still silent.

I have the core i5 version runing Mint Petra (16):
Everything working fine except suspend on closing lid doesn't work. Using f1 it both suspends and resumes correctly but, whilst it knows the lid is there, it doesn't know when the lid has been closed so have to do it manually with f1. I can live with that but, much worse, it wakes up in my bag and comes out really hot - I can't put it in my bag on suspend which for a lightweight laptop is a bit annoying. I've tried several fixes, so far nothing works. I gather UEFI handles suspend with Windows installations - I've installed it with legacy boot, I might try to get it working with UEFI and see if that helps.

After trying a bunch of distros, I was able to install Kubuntu. But I can only run it with noapic, nolapic and nomodeset off.

I have installed Linux suse enterprise desktop and everything works great. Graphics work great, network cards and other features worked without any issues at all. I run it for my personal business which has a dell server T310 which has Linux suse enterprise server and it connects to the server without any issues.

Kind regards
