This is a guide to running Linux with the Asus W5F laptop, model W5FT23SM58PG. The W5F is another small laptop from Asus with a middle level set of specifications. The Linux support on the W5F is good with only some slight configuration work required.

The native resolution of Asus W5F's screen is 1280×800. However due to the how the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 functions this resolution might not be usable. For details about this you can view our Configuring the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 & 950 guide.
Apart from the extra step for the graphics card, the Asus W5F laptop is easy to configure for Linux and works well.

w5f with opensuse
i'm running opensuse 11 kd4 and it works great. Screen is OK, Camera too.
I could not find drivers suitable to fit with volume and other hotkeys.

i installed the latest Ubuntu on here. I'm trying to get my webcam working. Was wondering if you have any idea? Nothing seems to work..
