Ubuntu 9.10 works with everything except the Wireless inbuilt card (rt2870)
Debian 5.0 installs but external usb2ethernet adapter was needed this laptop has a problem loading Debians version of grub. Debian can be upgraded to squeeze via recovery mode then remove grub and install extlinux.
On squeeze kernel 2.6.32-3 the wireless inbuilt card (rt2870) works, also the inbuilt Ethernet card works.

Discussion
I am using Benq U121, runs fine on xp,7. However 1st time I installed Ubuntu 9.04 and it worked fine, however it refused to work. Then I upgraded to Ubuntu 11.10 and found sound issues, everything I play (mp3,flv,avi,mpeg) or videos on youtube.com plays in fast forward. Checked the internal hardware, found everything fine, seems issues with the ubuntu package. My recommendations for LInux Ubuntu latest version will be wait for some time so that the bugs can be removed and it can work.
Hello all, I have had problems trying to install the GMA500 drivers in Debian, I could only find ubuntu packages/sources and tutorials for GMA500. So I tried installing ubuntu lucid (10.04) and ran this script poulsbo_lucid.sh from this howto but the screen shows funny random squares upon loading kdm then the system locks up. If someone could please help me install GMA500 drivers on Debian your help would be much appreciated.

Ive finally done with lubuntu, which ran wifi too in the first attempt. It ran lubuntu ran well till date without any bugs.
Whereas, in Win XP and 7, Ive got lots of issues ie., BSODs.
that was due to the GMA 500 drivers which i figured out lately.
Do u have any solution to that in windows?
Regards,
Deepak
