Everything works fine under Linux Mint 17.2 except the fingerprint reader. I have searched everywhere and not found a solution. If anyone has gotten it to work, I'd love to know how.

I'm not sure why, but my sound card is not detected. Proprietary drivers may be the reason? Alsa is about as useless as a mouldy sack of carrots with this laptop.

The laptop works great with Kubuntu 14.04 except for LAN connection problems when using a docking station:

When switching between LAN via docking station to LAN via cable plugged directly into the laptop and vice versa no network connection could be established anymore (because DHCPDISCOVER failed). Several reboots “solved” the issue.

Switching from Kernel 3.13 to 3.16 actually solved the problem.
