it took me a few days to get everythings working (specialy because of the os i choosed) and i still have to find
out why the bluetooth is still not recognised but the machine works very well with kubuntu
1 month later : still happy !
On Debian i think that bluetooth works.
You can enter a summary of how well the Dell Vostro 3555 works with Linux here.
Debian testing - everything line in table above + bluetooth probably working. Some serious issues with sleep/resume at the moment but it worked perfectly before.
Discussion
VOSTRO 3555 AMD A8 with ubuntu 12.04 64bits : everything is fine exept, the fingerprints reader and the touchpad. Nice but a laptop with a mouse is not really a laptop to me. If someone knows how to make the touchpad work, I will be happy to hear from him
And bluetooth is workink.

Linux bobikdell 3.1.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP Mon Jan 9 02:31:47 UTC 2012 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I managed to work it out by manually installing packages with proper versions:
- linux kernel 3.1.8
- fglrx - 1:11-12-1
ubuntu 10.04 64bits : everything is fine except the bluetooth, the fingerprints reader and the touchpad (works fine, but some functions are not recognised e.g. the shortlink on the keyboard to disable)
