Discussion
I have been using Zorin (which is based on 11.04 [Natty]) on a number of computers and laptops and have found very few issues with it.
My HP Compaq 615 does not have a hard drive at the moment, so I am booting and running it from an external HDD.
Everything just seems to work without any hitches.
I have set up the Bluetooth function to communicate with my cell 'phone, but as my wireless router has given up the ghost,
I am unable to comment on this feature.
I am just wondering whether it is possible to boot from the SD card. Whether it does or not, I won't install a HDD,
but will either use the external drive or a flash (thumb) drive. This will ensure that:
1) my HDD does not overheat inside the laptop casing
2) my OS and data can be removed and stored in a safe place and
3) in case my laptop goes missing, I will really only have lost the laptop and not the contents of the HDD. May I be so bold as to suggest that everyone who has sensitive data and/or their whole life stored on the laptop uses this method to guard against devastating loss?
4) anyone who steals my laptop will have the added expense of having to install a HDD, OS and all the software required to make it operational.
