I successfully boot this laptop from external HDD with with previously installed Debian. After disabling secure boot thru BIOS. Kernel 2.6.X . The followings do not work: WIFI (need new kernel), NVIDIA video card (simply no support from NVIDIA of Linux at all), problem with processor overheat (this laptop MUST work with soft for dynamic processor clocking, otherwise processor temp will be 85 deg Cel), by default processor work in turbo mode 3GHz when 2.3GHz is highest NORMAL speed; no sound. Work: mouse, touch-pad, Ethernet card. Not NVidia graphics works, but slow. In future I hope everything (but NVidia) will work “from out the box” with Ubuntu or Mint.
