Installation and configuration notes of Debian Lenny on HP Pavilion dv3500. Packages were mixed with some others from Debian Backports and Sid/Unstable, since Lenny's kernel 2.6.26 doesn't support Intel 5100AGN wireless. By the way this laptop has a sticker in back which says different model: dv3629tx, while dmidecode says dv3500, and to be more confusing, a sticker above LCD says Pavilion dv3000. I don't know which model should I put on title.

| Graphics | Yes | Use nvidia-glx, see nVidia on Debian Lenny |
| Sound | Partial | Edited /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base, added options snd-hda-intel model=hp-m4; this might be unnecessary since initially I forgot to add myself into audio group to be able to use sound. Output to headphone and input from external microphone untested. Internal microphone untested. |
| Ethernet | Yes | |
| Wireless | Yes | Lenny's 2.6.26 doesn't have iwlagn driver, solved by adding & compiling compat-wireless with some tweaking. Alternatively, use kernel 2.6.30 from Debian Backports or 2.6.32 from Debian Sid. Don't forget to install firmware. |
