My model is dv6 1222, the installation is Slackware64 13, with default installation work all hardware listed above as Out of the box, for the other i need some tricks
For the wireless card, mine is broadcom brm4312 you need to install Broadcom STA driver
available here
The audio system is an Intel ICH9 reconized by installation but no sound output, you need download and compile hda-verb tool for hearing anything, for parameter you need to insert search on google, after this all works, also headphone output and microphone input, i've not tested digital audio output and neither HDMI
For the graphic card, mine is Ati radeon HD4650, i've installed a proprietary driver from the official Ati site, because Xorg module, radeonhd, work very bad the screen is corrupted when switch from X to tty and again.
integrated webcam work, i don't use i've only tested, same for integrated microphone.
mplayer tv: -tv driver=v4l2:width=640:height=480:fps=25:device=/dev/video0 -vo xv
the cpu don't need anything for frequency scaling work out of the box with kernel 2.6.29.5 from slack
same for acpi for the screen, it blank.off after timeout, i use encrypted filesystem and i not have tested suspend mode or hybernate.
there are an integrated accelerometer it work, is recognized as joystick, useless yet
The LighScribe function is not tested yet, but is recognized by the software
Multimedia keys, volume, mute and wireless work also out of the box
I repeat is a very good laptop to work with Linux, if you need halp or only some suggestion leave a comment

I installed Ubuntu maveric x64 on my dv6-1240ez. I need a proprietary driver for the graphics (which was very easy to install), the whole rest worked out of the box. I had a minor problem with WLAN and the radio button, but you can find an pretty easy work-around here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1334195&highlight=rfkill
Post nr. 7 worked perfectly for me. You should definitely give Linux a try on this.
