Tested with openSUSE 12.2 (Gnome) with the i5-2450M (Intel HD 3000 graphics), everything works just fine. Installation was straightforward without any complications. Having this machine for few weeks, I haven't discovered anything unpleasant.
Even elsewhere quite common minor glitches, like not turning off webcam led indicator or not changing the wireless status indicator, are not present here.
This computer has models with a dedicated GPU. It works but the switching between the dedicated and integrated cards does not work so battery time is affected. The dedicated GPU can be disabled in bios.
The ralink network card has linux drivers but not for current kernels. Avoid ralink cards.
HP ProBook 4530s works very well with Linux if you use integrated graphics and dont have the ralink wireless card.
