Works fine with Ubuntu 12.04. Little problem: When stopping Wireless, it can't come back without restarting the laptop. But it remains a very very good choice
Discussion
I'm using ArchLinux on this laptop (the A8-3510MX CPU version). I took me a few months to configure it nearly perfect.
My comments on the above table:
Built-in Microphone - OK
Ethernet - OK
SD-MMC reader - OK
Suspend/Resume/Hibernate - I had no problem with it before updating to kernel version somewhere between 3.6 and 3.7. Now it sometimes hang while resuming.
Graphics Chip. On open radeon driver the VGA output and backlight didn't work properly. Switching to Catalyst resolved these problems and also caused a huge improvement in power consumption - the running time on battery increased by at least 150%.
Known problems:
- PCIe ASPM works only after changing kernel source or ACPI DSDT table
- the annoying fan is nearly always on and controlling it at least partially require changes in DSDT table
