Running Debian Jesse on a ProBook 6470b with very little issues. The “biggest” issue I've had, which is actually pretty minor, is the applications/start menus in GNOME Classic and Cinnamon sometimes displays weird, with a bunch of tiny squares appearing over the whole of the menu. This only happens every once in a while and goes away when I close the menu and open it again, and I think it doesn't happen when using Cinnamon with software rendering.

Installed a i7 3610QM and running Mint 18 on it without problems. Did not tested, if the Power Delivery packs the Full Load on the CPU yet.

I can confirm the occational hangs using wifi on Ubuntu reported by Sushant A. I and my collegue have the same issues. I try to avoid using wifi

Got the B6P73EA#ABD Version running with Kubuntu 12.04 LTS. Eeverything is fine (Card-Reader, Docking station, FireWire, Display Port (27”), headphone and microphone jack. I did not test fingerprint reader and expresscard-slot.

Have faced hangs when on-board wifi is switched on (Broadcom BCM43228) using Unity 12.04. Not resolved - am no longer using the wifi. Hang occurs after a few hours of use.

Also faced occasional (once in a couple months) hang when using intel driver for X, especially after playing video, probably due to ubuntu's delay in providing the latest intel drivers. Switching to the vesa driver has fixed it - havent had a freeze for over 3 months while running 24/7. (thats if you could call the primitive vesa driver a fix - it doesnt support dual monitor, etc)

Backlight dimming did not work out of the box using debian jessie

Fixed it by appending “acpi_backlight=vendor” to the kernel commandline.

I experienced GUI freezes on Ubuntu, both Unity and GNOME 3.6.
After I switched to Linux Mint 14, the freezes went away.

HP Probook 6470b - Core I5 3210M, 500 GB ST9500423AS, Graphics: Intel Ivy Bridge Mobile (GT2),16 GB RAM.
OS: Ubuntu Desktop 12.04.2 LTS, Unity interface.

Faced a frequently-disconnecting Ethernet (Intel 82579V). Using ubuntu's gui to manage the nic somehow fixed it, unsure why.

Have faced freezes related to the graphics card. Use of Unity 2D and disabling FBE seems to have fixed it.
