Works with Kubuntu 9.10
Bad laptop. Noisy, hardware unstable and built in weak plastics. Touchpad multitouch. Average quality screen. Two hours battery long.
|LG E500 JAP30|
|Intel Core2 Duo T5500|
|250 Gb 5400|
|DVD SuperMulti Tray|
|WIFI b/g, Ethernet Bluetooth|
|Processor||Yes||If you hace troubles with 'old' Linux Kernels (Ubuntu 8.04) then ACPI=off or disable multicore|
|Ethernet||Yes||Did not work with old Ubuntu Releases (8.04)|
|56K Modem||Not Tested|
|ExpressCard Slot||Not Tested|
Every device works fine in Kubuntu 9.10. ATI drivers (9.12) are not stable enough. Liquid cooling system is not quiet as I expected when I purchased it. The worst: Screen hinges break!!!! Screen hinges are not strong enough and plastic cover breaks in one year long.
Frame is very weak. When I hold laptop, it seems as if every piece is detached.
Kubuntu 8XX gave me a lot of problems with cpu multicore and ACPI. It was fixed in Kubuntu 9XX. ATI drivers are easy to install but every time I “dist-upgrade” I have to check compatibility and stability. Ethernet did not work until Kubuntu 9.04
