Sound does not work out of the box so you need to do a bit of tweaking. Add the following line to your /etc/modprobe.conf (or your distro's equivalent) file:
options snd-hda-intel model=3stack-6ch-dig
Then reboot your machine. Unfortunately even with this tweak the subwoofer and microphone still don't work properly.
The sound issue is the main problem with running the MSI EX625 under Linux. The other major features work just fine.

Webcam works on ubuntu based systems 10.04+ :)
btw this laptop doesn't have firewire it has eSata that works well too mostly on every linux
Hi I have an MSI EX625-227US running ubuntu 10.04 lucid lynx and the card reader is not working, did you find a solution to this i was wondering? Thanks!
bluetooth works just fine
