If sound doesn't work add the following lines to your /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf file:
options snd-hda-intel model=targa-dig options snd slots=snd-hda-intel alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel options snd-hda-intel probe_mask=1
The MSI EX628 works fairly well with Linux. Newer Linux distributions should take care of the sound issue.

thanks everything is ok
i have same laptop ubuntu 9.10 everything is work but sound is not working
Try this:
Open file:
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
Add this lines at the end
Restart computer.
If this doesnt work erase options.conf and options in /etc/modprob.d/

I am runing ubuntu on this laptom, but it is much hotter than in windows 7. From today on I will try to adjust some things and report later if I will succeed to run it better.
