Linux Mint 14 needs an internet connection during installation process. The ethernet card “Killer E2200” isn't recognized by linux on startup, so you have to use WLAN. After installation you have to compile a driver for the ethernet card (see: Ubuntu-Forum).
Up to version 308 the native Nvidia driver has no Optimus support to switch between Intel graphics and the Nvidia graphics card. You have to use Bumblebee (see: Bumblebee project).
I am using Linux Mint 14 on the MSI GE70-0NC for nearly 2 months now. It works very well.
