Some sound tip:
- Install hda-verb to /usr/local/bin/
- Run as a user /usr/local/bin/hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC0D0 0x15 SET_EAPD_BTLENABLE 2
- It's good idea to add above command as a startup script. If you don't do that, you'll have to run it each time manually.
While using webcam, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, make sure it's turned on (Fn+F6 for webcam, Fn+F8 for Wi-Fi, Fn+F9 for BT).
Tested on Ubuntu 8.04.4 Hardy Heron (kernel 2.6.24-27-generic).
Seems everything is working, but I don't have possibility to check HDMI.

Discussion
I have this laptop running Arch Linux 2010.5 with 2.6.38 kernel (updated from 2.6.37).
Everything works fine with kde 4.6. The card reader mounts automatically when I plug a SD card.
I get about 4hs with 50% brightness, wifi on, browsing and listening music with amarok. Here's a guide I wrote to improve the battery life http://insanelywind.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4155|Insanely Wind Post
For Bluetooth, check this: http://insanelywind.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4031
PS: Install fglrx drivers to get maximum performance and battery life
How long does your battery lasts on linux at wifi on, brightness at 50%?
10.04 Lucid Lynx lasts for about 2 hours and 40 minutes or so. Not that optimal, but quite ok :)
Hey all, I have Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx beta running on my U230 and it works flawlessly (taking in consideration that it is a beta). Sound and Wifi is working (I have no BT device in it). Haven't checked the webcam nor HDMI nor VGA, but I assume it will just work.

Thanks for this. I'm a Linux newbie and I've been frustrating on how to get the Wifi and the Sound to work with my MSI U230 (Hardy Heron is installed).
I'll definitely try this out and let you know if it worked.
