Make sure unmute and adjust volume all the way up in Windows using the hotkeys.
It seems the Toughbook T7 stores the volume settings in NVRAM that doesn't seem accessible
On Slackware 14.2, overall everything functions as expected. As noted above if Volume is adjusted or muted
under Windows using the hotkeys you can not unmute and volume level will go no louder than what was set in Windows.
