To obtain a good battery life with this laptop and avoid overheat problems, is strictly necessary to install AMD propietary drivers. In the settings of the Catalyst controllers you can select which graphic card to use.
In general the performance is good. Everything works well. The kernel 3.6.0 gives better results than 3.2.0 for the sound.
