The graphics chip will work with either the open source radeon module or with the proprietary ATI module. For installation instructions, you can view our Configuring an ATI graphics chip guide. For 3D support, you will need the proprietary module.
This is a nice and simple laptop to use with Linux. The installation was not a problem at all with much of the hardware detected and configured automatically.
