Installed ubuntu 12.10, and have big problems with display adapter, first on generic ubuntu supplied display drivers had resolution of 1024×768 but only on external monitor (VGA output on laptop) than i managed to install other drivers, X.Org….. which ones got the ppicture on laptop display, but now resolution was 800×600 and there was no desktop, terminal only (after pressing CTRL+ALT+T) and still fighting with display drivers. managed to download original nvidia drivers that should be for geforce gtx670M but i am missing some header files now, it is becoming a pain in the a… to set it up

I have Toshiba qosmio x870 and for the past 2 weeks I've been trying to install Ubuntu 12.04 or 12.10 which I find easy to install on other PCs. After disabling Secure Boot, I was able to run the Live CD/USB. Note, using the ubuntu-secure-remix didn't work while Secure Boot was enabled. Trying Ubuntu from the Live CD/USB works but it doesn't access the internet. You can detect all the devices but seems as though the drivers isn't installed. By the way, all is fine on Windows 8 which comes with the PC. I've been trying to sort the issue of WIFI and LAN for the past 2 weeks.
Running lspci shows:
So the question now is how to install atheros AR8161. The question was raised in this link: http://askubuntu.com/questions/226125/no-wifi-or-lan-on-ubuntu-12-04-or-12-10-live-cd-usb-using-toshiba-qosmio-x870/226410. I will appreciate any suggestion. Thanks.
