Even the webcam and microphone worked straight out of the box with skype under Ubuntu 9.04.

Discussion
Everything is working for me on this laptop, running Arch Linux.
Everything, except the multimedia button LEDs. Anyone got that working?
The TV-tuner works “ok” (not 100%) out of the box with ubuntu 10.1 but Bluetooth is not supported without following this; http://www.alexxoid.com/blog/linux/how-to-enable-bluetooth-on-toshiba-satellite-a300-laptop.html or possibly this http://www.itwriting.com/blog/333-fixing-bluetooth-on-a-toshiba-with-ubuntu.html (I haven't tried the method in the 2nd link)

Installed Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala on a Satellite A500/040
all things listed above work, including wireless and Graphics(Linux suggested i install the proprietary drivers, and i did).
I am yet to get the TV tuner working with Ubuntu.
Laptop goes to sleep fine, there are noted problems with hibernate.
