This model also has built in TV tuner “YUAN MC782ML/PD782S”. Not tested yet.
OPTIMUS technology turns out to be a major drama
Basically works with linux (ubuntu 12.04), but will require a bit of hacking to get all the equipment to work properly.
Discussion
If you're using Fedora 18, wireless networking works without doing anything if you upgrade to the 3.8.1 kernel.
Wired networking requires some effort, as explained at http://www.dizwell.com/2013/03/11/toshiba-p870-fedora-18-and-networks/
To get the wired network running, go to http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux-backports-modules-3.5.0/ and download the appropriate .deb file, install it.
run >modprobe alx
