Discussion

Has anyone actually got the YUAN TV Tuner on the P870 working with Ubuntu yet? I have looked everywhere but cannot find a single fix for the TV Tuner. I am running 13.10 but it simply won't work. It simply does not detect the card at all. The default Windows 7 works fine so I know the card works, just no driver in the kernel yet by looks of it and in all likelihood no driver from YUAN yet for Linux. Does anyone know of another driver that may work for it or even better the correct one.

Regards..Phil

If you're using Fedora 18, wireless networking works without doing anything if you upgrade to the 3.8.1 kernel.

Wired networking requires some effort, as explained at http://www.dizwell.com/2013/03/11/toshiba-p870-fedora-18-and-networks/

To get the wired network running, go to http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux-backports-modules-3.5.0/ and download the appropriate .deb file, install it.

run >modprobe alx

reboot to make sure.

done until the driver is included in the kernel
