Any Linux distribution with kernel version 2.4.22 or greater (including the 2.6 series) should work well with this laptop.
The graphics chip will work with either the open source radeon module or with the proprietary ATI module. For installation instructions, you can view our Configuring an ATI graphics chip guide. For 3D support, you will need the proprietary module.
This is quite an easy laptop to get working with Linux, however it is no longer in production.
