By mine there's keyboard backlight issue. So far I didn't found any good solution, did somebody has similar problem?.

Peyrak, 2016/10/12 13:30

I have the same problem.

I had two issues that are fixed now for Ubuntu 14.04 LTS:

I had problems with dimming the screen, which was fixed using instructions found in this link:

In addition, the problems I had with the touchpad not being recognized (which is an issue to many) were solved by updating to kernel 3.17 according to the link below. Note that the touchpad issues should be fixed for Linux distributions released after January 2015 (for example, Ubuntu 15.04 and Linux Mint 17.2) as they will be using newer kernels.

In Windows, Toshiba's eco power manager tool has an added feature that can prolong the service lifetime of your battery if you stay plugged in for long periods of time (recharging to a lower voltage so that the battery only reaches 80%). I have not found a way to configure this in linux yet. Other than this, as of now, I would rate linux compatability to be excellent.

Did you succeed in having the display work OK after suspend ? Furthermore how does the touchpad perform? I have read that not even the two finger scrolling is working… I'm about to buy a new notepad and the z50 seems OK but I do not feel confortable with the very few information about Linux compatibility around…

on Z50-A-120 the panel is a LP156WF4-SPB1

which is an IPS screen.

There is a problem however after suspend-to-ram: the backlight control stops to work after it is woken up from STR.
I use it with kernel param acpi_backlight=vendor - which works perfectly on T430. Without acpi_backlight on kernel command line backlight control does not work at all (Suse 13.1 kernel 3.15.7).
